deep sea fishing
Zanzibars northern tip of Nungwi is situated in close proximity to some of Africas best deep sea fishing grounds. The waters between Zanzibar and Pemba are home to some excellent game fishing opportunities. August to November provides really good sport for the big yellow fin Tuna, one of the strongest fish around. Big Blue Marlin and a number of Striped and Black Marlin are also found, as well as Sailfish. During this season, multiple hook ups are normal, when the ocean can come alive with huge schools of Tuna in pursuit of smaller fish. During the billfish season, which is from November to March, Striped Marlin are the most prolific, sometimes showing in packs of ten. Large Blue and Black Marlin are also quite common during this period.

Jozani forest
The Jozani Forest is located in the central east region of Zanzibar Island is the home of rare Red Colobus Monkey, which is only endemic to Zanzibar. A red colobus monkey, unlike their more widespread and adapted cousins, the Black and White Colobus, are a rain forest species which are now confined to very small areas of equatorial forest in tropical Africa. It is therefore a rare treat to be able to see them here in Zanzibar. The reserve also accommodate a large mangrove swamp and a tract of natural forest that is home to a few unique species including the Sykes monkey, bush babies, duikers, hyraxes, over 50 species of butterfly and 40 species of birds.

cultural village tour
To learn more about the local people of your holiday destination it is good to meet them at their familiar environment. During this tour it is possible to see how local residents are living, to visit their seaweed farm, to meet the village chief, to have a look into some private houses and to see how the locals use the coconut tree for instance to make ropes from coconut fibers.
